This variety of quartz contains needle-like inclusions of rutile. The Rutile grows first in an empty cavity that is later filled with liquid silica that hardens into Quartz. Rutile is an Oxide mineral, similar to Hematite.The way the mineral is formed makes it unique to each stone.
