Turquoise has been used in jewelry as far back as 3000 BCE in Egypt, and has been found in the Americas, Persia and China as well. The word turquoise comes from a French word meaning “Turkish,” likely because the stone was introduced to Medieval Europe by Turkish sources. It is known as the birthstone for December.
Earrings measure 1.2" from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the stone.

Turquoise is a porous and somewhat soft stone. Keeping stones away from chemicals such as fragrances and self care products will keep the stone looking bright and new. Silver will tarnish over time, and can be restored with a polishing cloth.
